Spiritual Life

Mission & Service

In 1902, Indiana Academy was created to serve the spiritual needs of its students.  The staff are not only dedicated to providing high levels of academic standards but to the spiritual growth of each student.  This makes Indiana Academy unique outside of the public education system.  At Indiana Academy, students are taught the importance of spiritual matters and daily communion with God.  In science class, students not only learn about the theory of evolution, but of God's wonderful creation of the world.  In addition to learning the traditional subjects such as English, Math and Science, students spend time in Bible classes learning more about God in practical applications. Turning their focus outward, students are encouraged to participate in outreach and mission projects.  Listed below are some illustrations of how Indiana Academy students are impacting their world.

Mission Trips:
Over the last 10 years, many of the students of Indiana Academy have joined the Cicero SDA Church on missions trips.  Usually occuring during Spring, Christmas, or Thanksgiving breaks, the trips last from 10 - 25 days.  In December, 2008, several students went on an evangelistic trip to Africa.  Stay tuned for more information on this exciting project.

In 2005, a group of IA students joined the Cicero SDA Church to build a church and school in Peru.  In 2006, a group of students went to India to do village church evangelism. In 2007 a group went to Panama to assist at a local school and another group went to Ecuador to build another church.  Last year the school went to El Higo, Mexico and also to Las Canas, Panama.
